The
Hangover (4 out of 5 stars)
Warner Bros./ June 5, 2009

In short: A group of guys heads to Vegas for a
bachelor party and loses the groom.
Why you’ll like it: It’s hilarious.
Seriously one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time.
Plus, I have discovered Bradley Cooper is hot (I used to think he
was a weenie).
On the other hand: If you’re offended by
penises, leave right before the credits roll (which would be too
bad because it’s one of the few times staying through the
credits has a purpose).
Synopsis:
Two days before his wedding, Doug (Justin Bartha) drives to Las
Vegas with his best buddies Phil and Stu (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms)
and his future brother-in-law Alan (Zach Galifianakis), for a blow-out
bachelor party they vow they'll never forget.
But when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning with pounding
headaches, they can't remember a thing. Their luxury hotel suite
is beyond trashed and the groom is nowhere to be found.
With no clue about what happened and little time to spare, the trio
must attempt to retrace their bad decisions from the night before
in order to figure out where things went wrong in the hopes of finding
Doug and getting him back to L.A. in time for his wedding.
But the more they begin to uncover, the more they realize just how
much trouble they're really in.

Star
Trek (5 out of 5 stars)
Paramount/ May 8, 2009

In short: A prequel to the classic
Star Trek series, it explains how Kirk became Captain.
Why you’ll like it: It’s soooo much
fun. It doesn’t take itself seriously (thank God) and the
characters (actors) are fabulous.
On the other hand: I guess if you hate Sci-Fi you
may not be impressed but I’m not usually a fan and I LOVED
it.
Synopsis:
The incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the
most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a
journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits
must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance
threatens all of mankind.
The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One,
James Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm
boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto),
was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As
fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful
partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through
unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before!
